The World Health Organization (WHO) has sent a team to a hospital in Gaza that is receiving casualties from deadly strikes on a refugee camp. During their visit, they heard distressing stories of entire families killed and saw dying children. The health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza reported that at least 70 people were killed in Israeli strikes on three houses in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp. Rows of victims' bodies were lined up at Al-Aqsa hospital in Deir al-Balah, and the hospital reported receiving around 100 casualties from the blasts.

Sean Casey, a WHO Emergency Medical Teams coordinator, described the heartbreaking situation, including treating a critically injured nine-year-old boy named Ahmed who was hit by shrapnel and rubble, with his brain matter exposed. WHO has warned that only nine of Gaza's original 36 hospitals remain partially functional. The war broke out when Hamas fighters launched an unprecedented attack on Israel, leading to a relentless military campaign by Israel that has resulted in the deaths of at least 20,670 people, mostly women and children, according to Gaza's health ministry.

The international community is being urged to act and demand a ceasefire as the situation continues to deteriorate. The WHO team emphasized that the current circumstances are unacceptable and that action needs to be taken to prevent further loss of life in the region.
