Ukraine's Border Attacks: Damage, Injury, and Retaliation- Russia Opens Investigation
Russia accuses Ukraine of launching attacks in the border regions, damaging train carriages and injuring one person. Moscow opens an investigation, while Russia's Defense Ministry destroys two Ukrainian drones in response. Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory have been increasing, with Moscow also accused of causing civilian casualties.
Russia has accused Ukraine of carrying out a series of attacks in the border regions of Bryansk and Belgorod, resulting in the damage of five train carriages and one injury. Moscow has announced that it will open an investigation into the Ukrainian strike that injured a civilian in a village on the Ukrainian border. The governor of Belgorod, Vyacheslav Gladkov, has reported that drones and missiles targeted several areas in the region, causing minimal damage in most cases.

However, three houses and five railway carriages were damaged in the town of Valuyki, located approximately 30 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. Gladkov also mentioned that power lines were hit, temporarily cutting off electricity. In response, Russia's Defense Ministry destroyed two Ukrainian drones in the region to prevent what it called attempts at a terrorist attack.
Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory have been increasing in recent months as part of a counter-offensive launched in June. Kyiv has also accused Moscow of causing the death of a 64-year-old man in the southern region of Kherson and injuring his wife. Ukrainian officials celebrated the anniversary of the recapture of Kherson city, which occurred a year ago during the last major frontline shift but remains a target of Russian shelling.
