Surge in Drone Attacks: US Faces Escalating Conflict in Middle East with Israel and Hamas

The United States is facing a surge in drone attacks in Iraq and Syria, as well as increased missile and drone threats from Houthi rebels in Yemen, according to the Pentagon. These attacks have targeted US bases, resulting in minor injuries and raising concerns about a potential escalation of conflict between Israel and Hamas that could involve the US. To address these mounting threats, the Pentagon is sending additional forces and fighter jets to the region. In a recent incident on October 19th, coordinated airstrikes hit two US occupation bases in Syria, escalating the tensions against US troops in the region.

Al-Mayadeen reported that three drones successfully launched airstrikes on the Al-Tanf base at the Syrian-Iraqi-Jordanian border, causing alarm and prompting increased military activity in the area. While the US-led coalition claimed to have intercepted and downed two of the drones, the third managed to target the base. Additionally, the US occupation base at the Conoco oil field in Deir Ezzor governorate was hit by multiple rockets. Despite the attacks, no group has claimed responsibility, and no casualties have been reported.

Hours before these airstrikes, the Israeli air force conducted attacks on the Syrian army in the southwestern Quneitra governorate, causing significant material damage. Explosions were also reported in the Israeli-occupied Syrian Golan Heights. Amidst the escalating hostilities, the Kataib Hezbollah resistance faction claimed responsibility for airstrikes targeting US troops stationed at Iraq's Ain al-Asad airbase on Wednesday. Initially, the Pentagon claimed to have repelled the attack, but later reports emerged about wounded soldiers.

The military spokesman for Kataib Hezbollah announced that the resistance in Iraq has joined the battle of 'Al-Aqsa Flood' and directed strikes at US bases in response. This development comes as factions within the Resistance Axis in West Asia have warned of their readiness to support the Palestinian cause and engage in battle against Israel, with US occupation troops and bases becoming legitimate military targets if the US decides to intervene. In the face of escalating tensions, the Pentagon has deployed multiple warships and thousands of troops to the Israeli coast. Furthermore, the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands have mobilized troops to support Israel's campaign against Palestinians, resulting in a broader international involvement in the conflict.
