Saudi Arabia and the United States have signed a bilateral memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish intercontinental green transit corridors that will connect Asia with Europe. This ambitious project aims to facilitate the transit of renewable electricity and clean hydrogen through transmission cables, pipelines, and rail linkages.

The primary objectives of the project include enhancing energy security, supporting the development of clean energy, promoting digital connectivity and data transmission, and facilitating trade and transport of goods.

According to a release issued by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the country welcomes the role that the US will play in facilitating and supporting the negotiations for the establishment and implementation of the green corridors transit protocol.

This collaboration will undoubtedly strengthen the relationship between both nations and pave the way for future cooperation. The signing of the MoU comes amid a diplomatic mission led by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's visit to Saudi Arabia.
