Sardar Latif Khosa Joins PTI: A Game-Changing Move for Pakistani Politics
Sardar Latif Khosa, a prominent Pakistan Peoples Party leader, announces his decision to join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in the interest of the country and democracy at a press conference in Lahore.
Sardar Latif Khosa, a prominent leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has announced his decision to join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) at a press conference in Lahore. According to Geo News, Khosa made this decision in the interest of the country and democracy, stating that he is now free to join the party of his choice. Khosa, who is also a member of Imran Khan's legal team, emphasized the importance of upholding the country's constitution, describing it as a civil agreement with the characteristics of a welfare state.
He highlighted the duty of the armed forces to not only protect the borders but also to assist the state during emergencies such as floods and to provide security for holding elections. With the upcoming general elections scheduled for February 8, Khosa underscored the need for a level playing field for all political parties, stating that the country's 250 million people are looking towards the judiciary to ensure fairness in the electoral process. This announcement comes as the PTI faces a mass withdrawal of leaders, including Pervez Khattak, Asad Umar, and Shireen Mazari, who have already parted ways with Imran Khan.
Earlier, in September, the PPP suspended Khosa's party membership over his failure to reply to a show-cause notice for violating party policy. Despite the challenges, Khosa has dedicated his services to the PTI, expressing his commitment to raising his voice vigorously for the truth. His decision to join the PTI at the urging of Imran Khan marks a significant political development, as the country prepares for the upcoming elections.
