Russia's foreign ministry has announced that it expects President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to soon sign a new interstate treaty between the two countries. Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian foreign ministry, emphasized the significance of the new treaty, stating that the international context has changed since the signing of the current treaty and that relations between the two countries are experiencing an unprecedented upswing.

The expected treaty is said to be signed during an upcoming meeting between the two presidents, although an exact date has yet to be determined, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. The White House has suggested that Iran may be considering providing Russia with ballistic missiles, a claim that the Kremlin has not commented on.
