Pervaiz Elahi, the president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been re-arrested in a terrorism case shortly after being released from custody in the Master Plan case, according to ARY News. Elahi was detained by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) and brought before a court magistrate for temporary remand. After the hearing, duty judge Shahrukh Arjumand approved Elahi's one-day transit remand, and he will be transported from Lahore to Adiala jail in the evening.

This arrest comes just a day after the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) had granted Elahi bail in the Federal Judicial Complex (FJC) attack case. In exchange for the bail, Elahi was required to provide a surety bond of PKR 20,000. This is not the first time Elahi has faced legal troubles. Since the riots that occurred on May 9, he has been imprisoned and arrested multiple times. The riots broke out following the detention of former prime minister Imran Khan, who is also the chief of the PTI. The party workers' agitation over Khan's detention led to violent confrontations and rallies in various towns across Pakistan.

The armed forces were called in to maintain peace and order, and during one of the PTI activists' demonstrations, army installations and the house of the corps commander in Lahore came under attack. The re-arrest of Pervaiz Elahi further adds to the ongoing legal challenges faced by the PTI party. It remains to be seen how this situation will unfold and what impact it will have on the political landscape of Pakistan.
