Prince Harry is pushing for a swift resolution of the remainder of his lawsuit against Britain's Mirror Group Newspapers, with his legal team appealing to the London High Court to take action. This comes after a ruling in his favor at the end of last year, which found that the newspapers had committed phone-hacking and other unlawful acts against the prince. The High Court awarded Prince Harry 140,600 pounds in damages, but the trial only considered 33 of the 147 articles that Harry argues were obtained unlawfully. His legal team is now calling for the trial of the remainder of his claim to be scheduled as soon as possible.

During Monday's hearing, arguments were also made about legal costs for last year's seven-week trial, with lawyers representing Harry and other claimants requesting almost 2 million pounds to cover the fees for the generic action taken against the publisher. Harry's lawyer argued that the lies and cover-ups by MGN, owned by Reach, meant it was liable to cover these costs. However, MGN's lawyers argued that the claimants had only been partly successful, and said that three others whose cases went to trial should pay all the costs. The judge indicated that he would give his ruling at a later date.

This lawsuit is one of several cases that Prince Harry is fighting against tabloids in the UK, with the claimants alleging that senior editors and executives at MGN were aware of and endorsed illicit activities such as phone-hacking and unlawful information-gathering. Prince Harry is seeking substantial damages for the unlawful acts committed against him, and while MGN has issued an unreserved apology and admitted liability, the legal battle to resolve the remainder of the lawsuit continues.
