Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron have emphasized the importance of the Defence Industrial Road Map during a lunch meeting following the G20 Summit. They expressed their commitment to strengthen defence cooperation in the design, development, testing, and manufacture of advanced defence technologies and platforms.

They also discussed expanding production in India, including for third countries in the Indo-Pacific region. Additionally, they talked about the progress in discussions on the Jaitapur nuclear plant project and the development of small modular reactor (SMR) and advanced modular reactor (AMR) technologies.

The leaders reiterated France's support for India's membership in the Nuclear Suppliers Group. The talks also covered various areas of cooperation, such as defence, space, nuclear energy, digital public infrastructure, critical technology, and climate change.

The leaders also discussed the Indo-Pacific Road Map, the International Solar Alliance, and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure. Furthermore, they explored institutional linkages in areas like digital, science, technological innovation, education, culture, health, and environmental cooperation.

The bilateral meeting between Modi and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva focused on the need to reform the UN Security Council (UNSC) and increase the representation of developing countries. Modi also had separate meetings with leaders from Canada, Germany, Turkey, South Korea, the Netherlands, Nigeria, and the Presidents of the European Council and European Commission.

He addressed concerns about extremist activities in Canada and discussed the India-European Union (EU) Strategic Partnership, ongoing Free Trade Agreement negotiations, climate change, and digital technology with European leaders. The discussions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan revolved around trade and investment, defence and security, civil aviation, and shipping.

The meeting with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol reviewed progress on various areas of bilateral special strategic partnership.
