President Zelenskyy seeks more help as Ukraine proves Russia's military can be stopped
Ukraine seeks help from Baltic countries in ongoing conflict with Russia. President Zelenskyy seeks aid for modern air defense systems and ammunition to combat intense missile and drone attacks.
Ukraine has proven that Russia's military can be stopped. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is seeking more help for his country against the Kremlin's forces during the 22-month-old invasion. The ongoing conflict has led to intense missile and drone attacks on Ukraine, depleting their weapons stockpiles and air defense resources. Ukraine is in dire need of modern air defense systems to combat these attacks.
President Zelenskyy is on an official visit to the Baltic countries to gather more support. Lithuania has pledged to provide military aid such as ammunition, generators, and detonation systems. Other Baltic countries like Estonia and Latvia are also expected to provide additional assistance. The visit is focused on discussing security concerns, Ukraine's aspiration to join the European Union and NATO, and building partnerships in drone production and electronic warfare capacities.
Zelenskyy is also seeking to accelerate development of Ukraine's domestic defense industry and establish joint projects with foreign governments for ammunition and weapons production. This comes as Western aid to Ukraine has slowed, with the U.S. Congress delaying further aid and Europe falling short on its pledge to provide 1 million artillery shells. Despite these challenges, Ukraine remains determined to secure the support it needs to continue the fight against Russia's military aggression.
