Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, popularly known as Prachanda, is set to embark on an eight-day visit to China from September 23. The purpose of the visit is to hold talks with top Chinese leaders, including President Xi Jinping, to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries. This visit also coincides with the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, which Prachanda will attend. Accompanied by several cabinet ministers, including the Foreign Minister and the Minister for Water Supply, Prachanda's delegation will engage in a series of meetings with Chinese counterparts.

The prime minister is scheduled to meet with President Xi in Hangzhou, as well as hold a bilateral meeting with Premier Li Qiang. Additionally, he will meet with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress in Beijing. The focus of these high-level meetings will be to deepen the friendship between Nepal and China, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, and discuss international and regional issues of mutual interest. Over the years, both countries have witnessed frequent exchanges at the highest level, strengthening their economic and cultural cooperation.

This visit aims to elevate the strategic cooperative partnership between Nepal and China to new heights. During his stay, Prachanda will address the China-Nepal Investment Summit, which aims to promote economic ties between the two countries. He will also have the opportunity to observe the agricultural and industrial advancements in Chongqing Municipality, China's fourth-largest city. Furthermore, he will visit Lhasa, the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, which shares a border with Nepal.

The bilateral relations between Nepal and China have been built on a solid foundation of commonalities in culture, history, and geography. This visit is expected to further strengthen these age-old ties and expand cooperation in various fields of mutual interest. Upon his return to Kathmandu on September 30, the Prime Minister will carry the momentum of this visit forward in order to enhance the strategic partnership between the two nations.
