Pakistan pledges humanitarian relief assistance to Gaza Pakistan's army chief, Gen. Asim Munir, affirmed Islamabad's unwavering support for Palestinians in their struggle to end the unlawful occupation of their territories and sacred places. In a corps commanders' meeting, the concerned commanders discussed the disproportionate use of force by Israel in the Gaza-Israel conflict, leading to immense human suffering among innocent civilians. In response to the ongoing crisis, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry announced the immediate dispatch of humanitarian relief assistance to Gaza, aiming to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians.

The ministry is coordinating with the relevant UN agencies, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, the Egyptian government, and Pakistan missions abroad to finalize aid delivery arrangements. Gaza faces displacement and humanitarian crisis Israel's continued bombardment and blockade of the Gaza Strip has caused over one million people to be displaced, accounting for almost half of Gaza's total population, according to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

The conflict began when Hamas initiated Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, including rocket launches and infiltrations into Israel, as a response to increased violence by Israeli settlers. In response, the Israeli military launched Operation Swords of Iron targeting Hamas in Gaza. Israel's actions, including cutting off water and electricity supplies to Gaza, have exacerbated the already dire living conditions in the area. The unofficial death toll from Israeli airstrikes in Gaza stands at over 2,800 Palestinians, including 750 children, while the death toll from Israeli attacks in the West Bank has reached 60. On the Israeli side, at least 1,400 people have been killed in the conflict.
