In a tragic incident, a Pakistan Army officer and three soldiers were killed during a fierce gun battle with militants in the Tirah area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Khyber district, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army. In addition, 17 security personnel lost their lives in attacks, ambushes, and security operations in Balochistan's coastal town of Gwadar, as well as in Dera Ismail Khan and Lakki Marwat districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These incidents highlight the alarming increase in militant attacks on security forces in Pakistan, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since the termination of the ceasefire agreement between the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan and the government in November of last year.
