US chipmaker Nvidia and its employees have made a significant impact by donating a total of $15 million to Israeli non-profit organizations supporting civilians affected by the conflict with Palestinian militant group Hamas. The company matched and doubled the $5 million contribution made by thousands of employees from over 30 countries, resulting in a total of $10 million under a special program to help those affected by the war. This donation marks the largest humanitarian fundraiser in the 30-year history of Nvidia. One of the company's employees, Avinatan Or, was captured by Hamas at the Nova music festival on October 7, along with his girlfriend and hundreds of others.

Nvidia's deputy general counsel, Gideon Rosenberg, expressed gratitude for the support and hope for the safe return of Or and the other hostages. The 30-year-old engineer had been working at Nvidia since April 2022, and his colleagues around the world have shown genuine care and support for him and the situation in the region. The funds were distributed to various organizations in the region, including Asor Fund (JGive), American Friends of Magen David Adom, Doctors Without Borders, Friends of United Hatzalah, IsraAID (US) Global Humanitarian Assistance, Jewish Agency for Israel, World Central Kitchen, and Zaka.

In addition to the monetary support, Nvidia also provided hundreds of computers to families evacuated from the north and south of Israel, as well as thousands of hot meals from its Yokneam office cafeteria. The generous contributions from Nvidia and its employees have made a significant impact in providing support and assistance to those affected by the conflict in the region.
