Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as Prachanda, has expressed his country's desire to strengthen its economic partnership with China for mutual benefits. During a meeting with Chinese Business Enterprises in Beijing, Prachanda highlighted the close affinity and geographical proximity of Nepal and China as enabling factors that should be utilized to promote mutually beneficial cooperation. Prachanda emphasized that as close neighbors, it is natural for Nepal to seek enhanced economic partnership with China.

The deep-rooted and multifaceted bilateral relations between the two nations are based on principles of peaceful coexistence, mutual understanding, mutual benefit, and win-win cooperation. During his visit to China, Prachanda met Chinese President Xi Jinping and held fruitful discussions on bilateral relations and cooperation. The two leaders agreed to collaborate closely and strengthen the Nepal-China friendship. Nepal is actively working towards facilitating trade and finding ways to increase its exports to China. Prachanda emphasized the potential for exporting Nepali products such as tea, herbal medicine, citrus food, buffalo meat, coffee, ginger, and yarn to China and stressed the need to reduce technical barriers and ensure preferential treatment for these products.

To enhance economic cooperation, Nepal aims to improve its productive capacity, enhance physical infrastructure, and strengthen the quality certification mechanism. Prachanda highlighted the importance of prioritizing these efforts to boost trade between the two countries. Prachanda's visit to China comes after addressing the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations in New York, reflecting Nepal's commitment to strengthening its international relations and seeking opportunities for economic growth and development.
