Maryland TikToker Shatters World Record for Loudest Burp: A Bellowing Belch of 107.3 dB
Kimberly Winter, a TikToker from Maryland, breaks the Guinness World Record for the loudest burp by a woman, measuring an astonishing 107.3 decibels. Her unique talent captivates audiences worldwide.
Kimberly Winter, a 33-year-old TikToker from Maryland, US, has gained worldwide recognition for her extraordinary talent: the world's loudest burp by a woman. Breaking the previous Guinness World Record set by Elisa Cagnoni of Italy in 2009, Kimberly's bellowing belch measured an astonishing 107.3 decibels (dB).
To provide some perspective, her burp surpasses the noise levels of a blender (70-80 dB), an electric handheld drill (90-95 dB), and even some motorcycles at full throttle (100-110 dB). In order to secure her place in the record books, Kimberly had to have her burp measured in a soundproofed room, similar to those used in sound-recording studios.
She chose to attempt the record live on the air during iHeartRadio's Elliot in the Morning show, adding an extra layer of excitement to the achievement. When asked about the meal that helped her achieve this feat, Kimberly revealed that she had consumed an iced coffee and breakfast sandwich from Dunkin' and even had a beer as backup.
But it's not just these specific foods and beverages that unlock her burping potential. Kimberly shared that she can burp with just "a little bit of water too." She explained that she takes a deep breath in and then tries to "manipulate that into something monstrous and magical" when attempting to burp loudly.
This exceptional talent has been with Kimberly since she was a young child, and as she grew older, her burps only got louder and louder. She enjoys surprising strangers with her burps and witnessing their shocked reactions. "That is just magic to me. I love to see their face," she shared. Kimberly loves nothing more than being "loud and proud" of her unique talent.
To celebrate her record-breaking achievement, Kimberly plans to celebrate with her fans on TikTok Live and enjoy a weekend of wrestling and a seafood broil with her friends and family. As for the male record for the loudest burp, it stands at 112.7 decibels and is held by Australia's Neville Sharp. Kimberly's triumph is a testament to the diversity of talents that exist in our world, and her ability to captivate and entertain audiences with something as simple as a burp is truly remarkable.
