Israeli PM Netanyahu Vows to Continue Gaza War Despite Heavy Toll
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirms commitment to Gaza war despite heavy toll on the Israeli army. Vows to continue fighting until Hamas is destroyed and security is restored.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to continue the Gaza war despite the heavy toll it has taken on the Israeli army. In a recent Cabinet meeting in Tel Aviv, Netanyahu stated, "The war is exacting a very heavy price on us; however, we have no choice but to continue to fight." This statement comes after the Israeli army reported that 14 soldiers were killed in clashes with Palestinian resistance fighters in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of soldiers killed since the outbreak of the conflict to 486.
Netanyahu emphasized that Israel will continue the fight with full force until victory and the achievement of its goals, including the destruction of Hamas and ensuring that Gaza will no longer pose a threat to the state of Israel. The ongoing Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip has resulted in significant casualties and destruction, with over 20,000 Palestinians killed and 54,000 others injured.
The conflict has also left Gaza in ruins, with half of the territory's housing stock damaged or destroyed and nearly 2 million people displaced. Netanyahu acknowledged that the war will be a long one until Hamas is eliminated and security is restored in both the north and the south. The situation remains tense as Israel faces threats not only from Hamas in Gaza, but also from Hezbollah militants across its northern border with Lebanon. Despite the heavy price being paid, Netanyahu has affirmed Israel's commitment to pressing forward with the war until its goals are achieved.
