Israeli forces have reported killing dozens of militants in recent days as the conflict in the Gaza Strip intensifies. Israeli aircraft and tanks have unleashed strikes on various parts of the enclave, with residents reporting heavy fighting and shelling in central areas such as the Al-Bureij refugee camp. The latest actions come after Israel announced plans to withdraw some troops, marking a new phase in the nearly three-month-long war against Hamas. The offensive has caused widespread devastation, reducing much of the territory to rubble and resulting in a humanitarian disaster for its 2.3 million residents.

In a daily briefing, the Israeli military reported targeting militants in Gaza City and along the Mediterranean coast, with dozens of terrorists killed in the process. Troops also seized weapons and dismantled rocket launchers in various areas of the enclave. Gaza residents have witnessed escalated bombardments by Israeli war planes and tanks, particularly in the eastern and northern areas of Khan Younis. The conflict has also extended beyond the Gaza borders, with Israeli soldiers engaging in a raid in the occupied West Bank and escalating exchange of artillery fire with Lebanese Hezbollah fighters on the border with Lebanon.

The Gaza war, triggered by a surprise attack by Hamas, has resulted in a high death toll, with over 22,000 Palestinians killed and hundreds more wounded. The conflict has also raised concerns about the future of the enclave and the prospect of an independent Palestinian state. While Israel has signalled a new phase in its offensive, with plans to reduce its forces inside Gaza and shift to more localised "mopping up operations," key officials have emphasized the need to destroy Hamas' terrorist infrastructure and governance capabilities in order to end the war. Efforts are underway to negotiate a new truce and hostages deal, as the conflict continues to take a heavy toll on the residents of Gaza.
