An international team of experts led by Airbus and BAE will aid Japanese authorities in investigating the deadly A350 plane crash at Haneda airport, which resulted in several fatalities.
A team of forensic experts from Airbus and the French state agency BAE are set to arrive in Tokyo to assist Japanese authorities in the investigation into the deadly A350 plane crash at Haneda airport. The airplane, an Airbus A350, had been delivered to Japan Airlines and was powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines. The tragic accident occurred when the plane collided with a Japanese Coast Guard aircraft as it skidded down the tarmac.
The collision resulted in a massive fire that killed five of the six crew members on the smaller craft. Fortunately, all 367 passengers and 12 crew members onboard the Japan Airlines plane were successfully evacuated. Footage shared on social media showed the aircraft engulfed in flames as passengers escaped using inflatable emergency slides. The smaller aircraft had been preparing to transport supplies to the areas affected by a devastating earthquake that struck Japan on New Year's Day, killing 48 people.
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida expressed his gratitude and respect for the deceased crew members, emphasizing their dedication and sense of mission. The investigation is expected to reveal the circumstances that led to the collision and fire at Haneda airport, and the international team of experts will play a crucial role in uncovering the causes of the tragic accident.
