Indonesia has given the green light for three Boeing 737 MAX 9 planes to resume flying after being grounded due to safety concerns. This decision comes after a similar model operated by Alaska Airlines was forced to make an emergency landing in the United States on January 5 when a cabin panel broke off mid-flight. After grounding and inspecting the three planes operated by Lion Air, the transport ministry concluded that they have different configurations from the Alaska Airlines plane.

As a result, the ministry has permitted these planes to fly again since January 11. Lion Air explained in a statement that the planes have different features, specifically noting that their mid cabin emergency exit door type II differs from the mid exit door plug on the Alaska Airlines plane. This development brings some relief to the aviation industry and travels alike, as safety is always a top priority. It also highlights the importance of thorough inspections and regulatory measures to ensure the safe operation of commercial aircraft.
