Former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has once again praised India for its achievements in space exploration, highlighting the need for self-reflection and national development in Pakistan. Addressing members of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Islamabad, Sharif emphasized the economic challenges facing Pakistan and attributed its struggles to internal factors. He called for accountability for his 2017 ouster, claiming that fake cases were registered against him and other PML-N leaders.
Sharif, who is vying for the prime ministerial position once again, pointed out the progress made by the Pakistan government under him, including ending severe electricity load shedding in 2013 and countering terrorism. He also drew attention to inflation, citing the increase in the price of roti and called for equal opportunities for women in national development. In a call for national development, the three-time prime minister urged Pakistan to prioritize women's participation, stating "Every nation that has developed has prioritized women in development."
He plans to contest elections from the Mansehra region of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, marking his return to Pakistani politics after a four-year self-imposed exile. Sharif's remarks come after he lauded India's progress in space exploration, stating "Our neighbors have reached the moon, but we haven't even risen from the ground so far." He stressed the need for Pakistan to confront its own challenges and take responsibility for its downfall. Sharif also questioned the blame game and called for national self-reflection, urging for a shift in Pakistan's trajectory towards progress and development.
