Pakistan's top election body, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), has adjourned the hearing of a contempt case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan and others until December 6. The case revolves around allegations of insulting the ECP chief. In addition to Khan, former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and federal ministers Asad Umar and Fawad Chaudhry are also accused in the case. All parties involved were scheduled to be indicted during the hearing on Monday, but the ECP tribunal adjourned the hearing after hearing arguments from the lawyers.

Khan, who was arrested earlier this year, is accused of disclosing a secret diplomatic cable sent by the country's embassy in Washington. The interior secretary, who was present at the hearing, stated that it was up to the ECP to decide whether the trial should be held in prison. Meanwhile, both Umar and Chaudhry, who had previously apologized to the chief election commissioner and the ECP, are currently in the Adiala Jail on unrelated charges.
