Celestial,Draconid,Meteor,Shower,Skies,Giacobinids,Shooting stars,Visibility,Constellation,Spectacular ---- Get ready for a celestial show this weekend as the Draconid meteor shower graces the skies. This annual event, also known as Giacobinids, occurs as the Earth passes through a cloud of cometary dust left behind by the comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner. The meteor shower will begin on Friday and continue until Tuesday, with its peak expected on Sunday evening after nightfall. During its peak, the Draconid meteor shower is predicted to produce up to 10 shooting stars every hour. Unlike other meteor showers that are best seen in the early hours of the morning, the Draconid meteor shower can be observed in the evening soon after nightfall.

Visibility will be enhanced by minimal light pollution, so finding a location with an unobstructed horizon and clear view of the stars is ideal for fully appreciating this celestial event. Dr Minjae Kim, a research fellow from the Department of Physics at the University of Warwick, recommends taking advantage of the favorable viewing conditions during the Last Quarter phase of the moon. The radiant point of the meteor shower reaches its highest point in the constellation Draco, although it is not directly related to the Draco constellation.

The Orionid meteor shower is set to peak between midnight and dawn on October 21-22. To witness this shower in all its glory, it is advised to head to an area with minimal light pollution, such as the countryside or higher grounds above areas with streetlights. So mark your calendars and prepare for a spectacular celestial show. Grab a blanket, find a dark spot, and gaze upward as the Draconid meteor shower lights up the night sky.
