Diplomatic Tensions Soar as Irans Airstrikes Spark Crisis with Pakistan
x

The diplomatic tensions between Pakistan and Iran have reached new heights after a series of airstrikes by Iran targeted bases of the militant group 'Jaish al-Adl' in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. Pakistan has condemned the strikes as a violation of its airspace and international law, leading to the recall of its ambassador from Tehran and the expulsion of the Iranian envoy from Islamabad. Pakistan has called the airstrikes an "illegal and unacceptable act," with the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stating that the responsibility for the consequences will lie squarely with Iran.

Additionally, Pakistan has suspended high-level visits between the two countries in the coming days. Iran, however, has defended the strikes, stating that its paramilitary Revolutionary Guard targeted bases belonging to the militant group seeking an independent Balochistan. China has also expressed concerns over the rising tensions, urging both countries to exercise restraint and jointly safeguard peace and stability in the region.

The airstrikes have sparked a diplomatic crisis between the two nuclear-armed neighbors at a time of rising regional conflict, with Iran also facing criticism from Iraq over a separate missile strike targeting an Israeli spy base. As the situation continues to escalate, the international community is closely watching the developments and hoping for a peaceful resolution to the crisis.
