Tragedy struck near the Italian city of Venice as a bus carrying tourists crashed off a flyover, killing at least 21 people, including two children. The bus, which was rented to transport tourists between Venice and a nearby campsite, broke through a barrier and plunged near railway tracks. Among the victims are five Ukrainians, one German, and the Italian driver.

The cause of the crash is still unknown, but some reports suggest that the bus, powered by methane gas, fell onto power lines and caught fire. Rescue workers are still at the scene, and Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi warned that the death toll could rise. At least 18 people were injured, with five in serious condition. Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed condolences and pledged support to the victims' families. European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen also expressed solidarity with Italy during this "profound pain." This incident serves as a tragic reminder of a similar bus crash in 2013 near Monteforte Irpino, where 38 people lost their lives.
