China's Vice President Han Zheng has reaffirmed China's commitment to opening up to the world and maintaining an independent foreign policy. He expressed these views during his speech at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. Han emphasized the importance of addressing the legitimate security concerns of all countries and respecting their sovereignty and territorial integrity. He called for peaceful resolution of differences and disputes through dialogue and consultation. Regarding the Ukraine conflict, Han stated that China supports all efforts that contribute to a peaceful resolution and is ready to play a constructive role in achieving lasting peace.

China's Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, has conveyed to his Russian counterpart that China will uphold an independent and impartial position in seeking a political settlement to the issue. It is worth noting that China has refrained from condemning Russia for its invasion of Ukraine, which has drawn international pressure for China to do more to convince Moscow to end the war.

Despite this, China has presented its own peace plan, which has received a lukewarm response from both Russia and Ukraine. During the UN gathering, Han also met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, highlighting the strong friendship and shared hardships between the two countries. He pledged to further strengthen bilateral relations. President Vucic is expected to attend China's third Belt and Road forum, where representatives from over 110 countries will discuss China's ambitious trade and infrastructure initiative. Han emphasized the importance of placing development at the center of the international agenda and ensuring that its benefits reach every country and individual in a fair manner.

China remains committed to its role as a member of the developing countries' family and will continue to work towards global development. Overall, Vice President Han Zheng's speech at the United Nations General Assembly highlights China's commitment to openness, independence, and sovereignty. It also underscores China's willingness to contribute to resolving international conflicts and promoting global development.
