China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi is calling for a larger-scale, more authoritative, and effective international peace conference and a concrete timetable to implement a two-state solution for the ongoing war in Gaza. Mr. Wang shared his views on the Israel-Hamas conflict after holding talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry in Cairo. He expressed concern over the escalating conflict, stating that it is causing massive casualties among innocent civilians and leading to serious humanitarian disasters.

During his discussions with Egyptian and Arab League officials, Mr. Wang emphasized the importance of addressing the legitimate concerns of countries in the region and working towards the two-state solution. He also announced that China would provide a third tranche of emergency humanitarian assistance to Gaza, which has been devastated by the conflict.

Mr. Wang stressed the need for influential countries to play an objective, impartial, and constructive role in de-escalating the situation and achieving a ceasefire. He reaffirmed that the two-state solution remains the basis for any future arrangements concerning the destiny of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. China's top diplomat is currently on a diplomatic tour through Egypt, Tunisia, Togo, and the Ivory Coast, aiming to engage with regional partners and contribute to the efforts to resolve the crisis in Gaza.
