In the wake of the attacks by the militant group Hamas on Israel, the British royal family has expressed their condemnation and distress. King Charles, along with senior royals such as Prince William and Catherine, have condemned the barbaric acts of terrorism in Israel. The palace spokesperson stated that the King is appalled by the situation and has requested to be kept actively updated. His thoughts and prayers are with all those suffering, particularly those who have lost loved ones. The death toll in Israel has reached 1,200, with over 2,700 wounded, as a result of the attacks by Hamas militants.

In response, Israel has launched retaliatory air strikes on Gaza. The Buckingham Palace spokesperson also mentioned that the King has spoken with President Isaac Herzog of Israel and King Abdullah II of Jordan to express his concerns and offer his thoughts and prayers. The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, has also condemned the attacks, describing them as utterly abhorrent. He expressed his sympathy for the innocent civilians, including children and the elderly, who have been affected by the violence.

Welby also acknowledged the potential increase in antisemitic sentiment that British Jews may face as a result of the attacks. Foreign Secretary James Cleverly has traveled to Israel to meet with survivors and show the UK's support for Israel. British nationals, including Nathanel Young, Bernard Cowan, and Jake Marlowe, have been confirmed to have died in the attacks, while the family of photographer Daniel Darlington believes he is among the deceased. King Charles, who visited Israel and the occupied Palestinian Territories in 2020, has long advocated for inter-community dialogue and understanding.

During his visit, he emphasized the evil of the Holocaust and the dangers of antisemitism, as well as expressing sadness for the suffering of Palestinians. Prince William and Catherine also undertook an official visit to the region in 2018, where they expressed their hopes for a just and lasting peace. In conclusion, the British royal family stands in solidarity with the victims and their families affected by the Hamas attacks in Israel. They condemn the acts of terrorism and express their thoughts and prayers for all those suffering.
