Lashkar Commander Ismail Langda active at LoC, may attempt to push infiltrators
After Jammat-ul-Dawa chief and patron of banned terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) Hafiz Sayeed's release by a Pakistani Court, LeT is planning a suicide attack in any part of Jammu & Kashmir by sending armed infiltrators to Indian territory, the Intelligence Agencies said.
Sources in the Intelligence Agencies disclosed that there are strong inputs and reports that there is lot of pressure on Lashkar cadre from its bosses in Pakistan to strike somewhere in Jammu or Srinagar.
"There are confirmed reports and movement of Lashkar's mastermind top commander 'Ismail Langda' has been seen near LoC on the opposite side of Sunderbani area of Rajouri district," sources said.
It is worth mentioning that Indian Army had conducted historical surgical strikes inside Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) opposite to Rajouri district in Sep 2016 and destroyed the launching pads and eliminated terrorists present in the camps.
"Now, these launching pads has been revived by the terror outfits and militants are waiting for the right ambience to sneak into Indian side, be it the foggy weather or the ceasefire violations, sources in intelligence agencies added.
Just in less than a week time, Pakistan violated ceasefire twice at LoC, falling under twin bordering districts of Poonch-Rajouri.
"The inputs have been shared on and off in many meetings with operational forces like army, police and CRPF," said official sources but on anonymity and further shared that the banned terror outfit LeT is planning some suicide attack after pushing terrorists inside Indian territory from LoC in Rajouri or Poonch districts or may also try to infiltrate from International Border (IB) in Jammu.
"There are also inputs that terrorist may plan to strike some security installation in Jammu or nearby areas as they had done in the recent history, so an alert has been sounded, which is a routine process too," said a armed force official while adding that security forces are always ready and in many meetings these inputs were discussed. "But this time it is specific about the presence of Lashkar commander on the other side of LoC, the officer added.
The Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, Shesh Pal Vaid said, "Alertness is being maintained and JKP is on alert always."
The state police along with army and para-military forces have got huge success this year against terrorism as 200 militants have been eliminated including many foreign mercenaries.
Who is 'Ismail Langda' ?
'Ismail Langda, the Lashkar commander' was reportedly behind the most brutal terror attacks from Pakistan in recent years, a series of ceasefire violations at the Line of Control (LoC) and particularly beheading of two Indian soldiers Lance Naik Hemraj and Lance Naik Sudhakar in January 2013.
LeT cadre 'Langda', who is basically resident of Jammu's Poonch district and a native of Dera Dullian village crossed over to the other side and joined Lashkar and then Pakistan Army along with the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) planned and executed the brutal act in J&K.
As per sources the man allegedly helped Pakistan to push terrorists into India, was taken to Saudi Arabia for training, from there he travelled to Pakistan and later he crossed the border and returned to India. He used to work for LeT. As per intelligence inputs, LeT Chief Hafiz Syed during November 12, 2012 meeting in Hajira area of PoK appointed 'Ismail' as Launch Pad Commander. Since then he is infamous for planning infiltration and terror attacks in J&K. "Being well versed with topography of the region, Langda was assigned with a task of facilitating infiltration right from Nowshera to Haji Peer area, sources added.
