In a shocking incident that has brought Vistara Airlines under scrutiny, a Glasgow-based fashion designer has accused the airline of leaving his wheelchair-bound, blind, and elderly mother alone on an empty plane after it landed at Kolkata airport from Delhi on August 31. The designer had specifically opted for an assisted travel plan for his mother, which promised continuous support throughout her journey. However, upon landing, the woman was left waiting on the plane with no assistance in sight. The incident came to light when the son, Ayush Kejriwal, shared a video on Instagram and sent a complaint via email.

The video went viral on social media, garnering widespread attention and backlash against Vistara Airlines. In the video, Kejriwal expressed his shock and questioned the airline's responsibility towards disabled passengers under their care. According to Kejriwal, his mother called for assistance upon realizing that aircraft cleaners had entered the plane for cleaning purposes. Thankfully, the cleaners alerted airline officials, who then escorted her off the plane at Kolkata airport. However, the situation could have been much worse if his mother had not raised an alarm.

The flight had an onward journey to Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and there was a possibility she could have been left onboard and flown to Port Blair. Vistara Airlines responded to Kejriwal's complaint, expressing "deep regret" and promising a thorough investigation. The airline's social media team assured Kejriwal that they prioritize the well-being, safety, and security of their customers. They requested specific flight details to further address the issue.

This incident has caused outrage among social media users, with many expressing their shock and vowing to think twice before booking flights with Vistara Airlines. Some users even shared their own similar experiences and criticized the airline for their lack of accountability. As of now, Kejriwal has not provided any further comments on the matter. It remains to be seen how Vistara Airlines will handle the investigation and address the concerns raised by Ayush Kejriwal and other disgruntled customers.
