UK Condemns Attacks on Indian High Commission
The Indian government has expressed gratitude for the UK’s stance on the matter, thanking the British government for its prompt action in ensuring the safety of its diplomatic mission and personnel.
UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly has strongly condemned any direct attacks on the Indian High Commission in London, calling them “completely unacceptable.” His remarks follow reports of threats and attacks targeting Indian diplomatic missions in the US, Australia, Canada and the UK, as well as the emergence of posters online featuring images of Indian High Commissioner to the UK Vikram Doraiswami and Dr Shashank Vikram, the Consul General of India in Birmingham. The incident in March sparked a major security concern in the UK.
It is encouraging to see James Cleverly, the British Foreign Secretary, reiterate that any attacks on the Indian High Commission will not be acceptable. The High Commission has come under attack many times by radical Islamists and Khalistanis.

The UK government has been vocal in its condemnation of the attacks against Indian diplomatic missions, expressing deep concern over the safety of Indian High Commission and its staff.
Speaking on the issue, Foreign Secretary James Cleverly reiterated the UK’s strong stance against any direct attacks on the Indian High Commission in London, adding that the safety of staff at the High Commission is of “paramount” importance.
