Two drones were brought down outside Moscow on Wednesday, said. Andrei Vorobyov  Governor of the Moscow region. The wreckage of a third drone found 20 kilometres (12 miles) from the crash site, he further added. Russian authorities alleged that the drones were part of an attempted "terrorist attack" by Ukraine, though Kyiv made no immediate comment. The incident follows several other reported drone strikes by Ukraine on Russian facilities in the past months, including an attack on the Russian capital in December. In response to the growing Ukrainian threat, Russia has been assembling defensive lines on the approaches to Crimea, as reported by the UK Defense Ministry. Understanding the importance of the peninsula, the Kremlin has made controlling Crimea a top priority. Meanwhile, on Wednesday train traffic was disrupted on the Crimean Peninsula, with some Russian media outlets citing sabotage operations as the cause. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that his country is aiming to reclaim the peninsula as part of a counteroffensive. Though no damage or casualties have been reported due to the drone strikes, the incident highlights the tensions between Russia and Ukraine over the Crimean Peninsula, and raises questions about the security of Moscow in the face of Kyiv’s increased military operations. Drones have become the most important of weapons in the 21st century warfare and the technology is only becoming more and more sophisticated over the years. Both sides have been using drones to carry out attacks as the war continues to rage with no solution in sight.
