Strengthening India-France Relations: PM Modi Kicks Off Two-Day Tour

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a two-day tour to France on July 14, welcomed at the airport by French Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne. During his visit, he will be the Guest of Honour at France’s National Day celebration, marking the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille fortress-prison in 1789.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a two-day tour to France on July 14, welcomed at the airport by French Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne. During his visit, he will be the Guest of Honour at France’s National Day celebration, marking the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille fortress-prison in 1789.

PM Modi was presented with a ceremonial welcome at the airport by Prime Minister Borne. He was also greeted by Indian Ambassador to France, Vinay Kwatra, and other dignitaries.

A tri-service contingent of the Indian Armed Forces, led by Major General Alok Kacker, will be part of the Bastille Day parade to commemorate the anniversary. The Prime Minister will also attend a bilateral summit with President Emmanuel Macron.

During the summit, the two leaders will discuss a range of topics, including the security situation in the Indian Ocean, terrorism, climate change, and trade. The highlight of the visit will be an impressive fly-past by the Indian Air Force’s C-17 transport aircraft.

The fly-past is a tribute to the strong ties between India and France. In addition, the two countries are likely to sign a mutual defense pact. The agreement is expected to focus on increasing defense cooperation and maritime security. It will also include a commitment to jointly develop military hardware and software.

PM Modi’s visit to France is part of his four-nation tour to France, Germany, and Spain. During his visit, he is expected to hold talks with several leaders of these countries and expand defense and economic ties.


With PM Modi’s two-day tour to France, the relationship between India and France is set to deepen and strengthen. The two countries are expected to sign several important agreements that will benefit both nations.
