Son's Shocking Confession: Brussels Man Admits Gruesome Murder and Dismemberment of Mother
Man confesses to killing mother, dismembering her body, and hiding parts in refrigerator and river before arrest near Brussels airport.
A man in his mid-30s in Belgium has admitted to the gruesome killing of his mother and dismembering her body, before placing parts in a refrigerator and disposing of the rest in a nearby river.
The chilling discovery was made when a refrigerator containing two arms and two legs was found floating in a canal on the outskirts of Liege. Further investigation led authorities to discover the remaining body parts, including the head and torso, in a trash container in a nearby river.
The victim, identified as a woman in her 70s, was recognized through a tattoo on her torso. Her son, born in 1988, was apprehended in a hotel near Brussels's airport, where he was reportedly preparing to flee to South Korea. During questioning, the suspect confessed to the crime, leading to charges being filed against him.
Early investigations have revealed that the mother and son had a history of arguments after the son moved back in with her following the Covid-19 pandemic. The shocking details of the case emerged when the suspect confessed the crime to someone close to him, who subsequently alerted the authorities. The motive behind the murder is yet to be determined as the investigation continues.
