Shavkat Mirziyoyev Wins Re-Election as President of Uzbekistan

 The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Uzbekistan has announced the results of the December 22nd presidential election. More than 15 million voters participated in the election, an impressive 79 percent of the electorate, and the candidate from the Liberal Democratic Party, current President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, emerged victorious with 87.05 percent of the vote.

The other candidates were from the Social Democratic Party "Adolat", Robakhon Makhmudov with 4.43 percent; the People's Democratic Party, Ulugbek Inoyatov with 4.02 percent; and the Ecological Party, Abdushukur Khamzaev with 3.74 percent.
