Premier Li Qiang of China is actively involved in the relief efforts in the earthquake-hit areas of northwest China. He visited several villages in Jishishan County, Gansu Province, and Minhe County in Qinghai Province to assess the situation and ensure that the affected people are being taken care of. The 6.2-magnitude earthquake that struck on Monday has left 148 people dead and 781 injured, along with many buildings being toppled. During his visits, Premier Li talked with the affected people and emphasized the top priority of ensuring their safety and warmth during the winter.

He urged relief workers to expedite the delivery of relief supplies and daily necessities to the victims in the settlements and build temporary houses as quickly as possible for those currently living in tents. Li has also emphasized the need to check and reinforce buildings in the quake areas, and to plan reconstruction efforts in a coordinated manner to prevent poverty caused by the disaster. In addition, the premier instructed local governments to release disaster relief information in a timely manner and respond actively to the concerns of the affected people.

Furthermore, China's National Forestry and Grassland Administration has allocated disaster relief materials to the affected areas, including cold-prevention materials and communication equipment. Overall, Premier Li is taking all possible measures to improve the living conditions of the affected people and ensure they are able to get through the winter safely.
