Poland Launches Evacuation Operation Amidst Gaza Conflict, Ensuring Safety for Its Citizens

Poland to Evacuate Citizens from Israel Amidst Escalating Conflict WARSAW - In response to the recent surprise attack launched by Hamas on Israel, Poland has announced plans to send military planes to evacuate its citizens from the conflict-stricken region. Polish President Andrzej Duda took to social media to inform the public about the evacuation efforts. "We are sending air force transport planes to carry out the evacuation of Poles currently staying in Israel. Soldiers from our special forces will ensure loading protection and safety on board," President Duda wrote online.

He emphasized the importance of prioritizing the safety of Polish citizens caught in the crossfire. Poland's Defense Minister, Mariusz Blaszczak, revealed that two C-130 Hercules planes would be dispatched to evacuate approximately 200 Polish nationals from Ben Gurion Airport. Additional planes may be deployed if needed, and discussions are underway with Greece to establish an evacuation bridge for Polish citizens returning home. "We can expect these planes to take off at any moment, arrive at their destination, and pick up Polish tourists waiting at the airport," Minister Blaszczak stated during a press conference.

Polish state-owned airline, LOT, has already canceled its flights to Ben Gurion due to the escalating tensions. Meanwhile, in Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared a "state of war" after Hamas launched the deadly assault from Gaza. Israel has responded with airstrikes targeting Hamas strongholds in Gaza, engaging in ground clashes with militants at various locations. Israeli warplanes have continued to pound Gaza, with the Defense Forces claiming to have struck 426 targets, including 10 towers used by Hamas.

The airstrikes have resulted in a significant loss of life, with the Palestinian health ministry reporting at least 313 Palestinians killed and close to 1,990 wounded in the past 24 hours. Tragically, the toll includes 20 children who lost their lives and 121 children who were injured. The situation on the ground remains tense, with Israeli forces vowing to retaliate against the militant attacks and warning of a prolonged conflict ahead.
