In a tragic incident, a Pakistan Army officer and three soldiers were killed during a fierce gun battle with militants in the Tirah area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Khyber district, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army. The officer, Lt. Col. Muhammad Hassan Haider, and the soldiers lost their lives during an intelligence-based operation that resulted in a heavy exchange of fire.

During the operation, led by Lt. Colonel Haider, the Pakistan Army effectively engaged the militants' location, resulting in the gunning down of three terrorists while three others were injured. Sanitization operations are currently underway to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area. The statement emphasized that the security forces of Pakistan remain resolute in their determination to eliminate the menace of terrorism, and the sacrifices made by the brave soldiers only strengthen their resolve. The news comes in the wake of a series of recent attacks targeting security forces in Pakistan.

Just two days ago, a terrorist attack on the Pakistan Air Force's heavily-guarded M M Alam Base in the Mianwali region resulted in the deaths of all nine terrorists involved, with three grounded aircraft and a fuel tanker being damaged. In addition, 17 security personnel lost their lives in attacks, ambushes, and security operations in Balochistan's coastal town of Gwadar, as well as in Dera Ismail Khan and Lakki Marwat districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These incidents highlight the alarming increase in militant attacks on security forces in Pakistan, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since the termination of the ceasefire agreement between the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan and the government in November of last year.

The news of the officers and soldiers being killed in the line of duty has triggered deep sorrow and grief, with Interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar vowing to continue the fight against terrorism until it is completely eradicated from the country. The Prime Minister stressed that the evil intentions of those who wish to disrupt peace in Pakistan will not be allowed to succeed, and the nation remains steadfast in its commitment to the ongoing battle against terrorism. The sacrifices made by the brave soldiers serve as a poignant reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by Pakistan in its pursuit of stability and peace. The nation stands united in honoring the memory of those who lost their lives in the service of their country, and their sacrifices will not be forgotten.
