Pakistan and Afghanistan Collaborate for Smooth Evacuation of Illegal Afghan Refugees Amid November 1 Deadline

 Pakistani and Afghan government officials met on Tuesday to discuss border management issues and the smooth evacuation of illegal Afghan citizens living in Pakistan. The Pakistani government has set a deadline of November 1 for all illegal Afghan nationals to leave the country. The meeting focused on providing facilities to Afghan refugees crossing the border, including patients, and ensuring a smooth and organized evacuation process.

Jan Achakzai, the Balochistan caretaker information minister, highlighted that the meeting involved Pakistani border management officials and representatives from the Taliban Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. They discussed the provision of facilities to Afghans crossing the border, particularly those in need of medical attention, and emphasized the importance of a well-coordinated and humane approach to the evacuation of illegal Afghan refugees.

The meeting also addressed recent border management issues, with the attendance of Deputy Commissioner Raja Athar Abbas and Frontier Corps Commander Chaman Umar Jabbar. One of the key areas of focus was the challenges faced by patients at the border, reflecting a collective effort to manage the humanitarian aspects of the Afghan refugee crisis. According to Achakzai, thousands of Afghan refugee families have already crossed over to Afghanistan via the Chaman border, and there is a daily outflow of hundreds of illegal refugees.
