A recent scientific study conducted by researchers at the Northwest Minzu University in China has found that drinking Coca-Cola and Pepsi may have a positive impact on testicle size and testosterone production in men. This study contradicts previous research that suggested the fizzy drinks could have a harmful effect on reproductive functions and sperm count. The study, which focused on the fertility of mice, involved different groups of mice drinking varying levels of Coca-Cola and Pepsi, while another group was given only water. The results showed that the mice drinking the fizzy drinks had increased testicle size and higher levels of testosterone.

The researchers stated, "The outcome demonstrated a high dose of Pepsi or Coca-Cola could promote testis growth and development. The concentrations of serum testosterone in all mice were enhanced after the Pepsi-Cola and Coca-Cola treatment. This indicated that high doses of Pepsi and Coca-Cola could improve testosterone secretion of male mice." However, the researchers also acknowledged that their findings contradict previous studies that have linked soda consumption to reduced sperm count and harm to reproductive functions.

One study of 2,500 men found that sperm quantity decreased by 30 percent after consuming one liter of carbonated drinks daily. It is important to note that health experts still recommend against consuming sodas due to their high sugar content. One can of soda can contain as much as 39 grams of sugar, exceeding the recommended daily intake of sugars for both men and women. In related news, Mukesh Ambani, India's richest man, is relaunching the brand of cola called Campa Cola, which was popular in India in the 1970s and 1980s.

Campa Cola was considered a homegrown alternative to Coca-Cola and Pepsi, appealing to Indian patriotism. However, with the entry of Coca-Cola and Pepsi into the Indian market, Campa Cola lost popularity and largely disappeared from grocery store shelves. The relaunch of Campa Cola aims to tap into nostalgia and a sense of Indian heritage. Overall, while the recent study suggests a positive impact of Coca-Cola and Pepsi on testicle size and testosterone production, further research is needed to fully understand the potential health effects of consuming carbonated beverages. In the meantime, health experts continue to caution against excessive soda consumption due to its high sugar content.
