Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party supremo Nawaz Sharif, along with his brother Shehbaz Sharif, is seeking certain guarantees before his planned return to Pakistan next month, according to a media report. Shehbaz, who recently returned to Lahore from London, is set to meet his brother again before his departure. Nawaz, a three-time prime minister, is expected to lead the PML-N party in the upcoming general elections.

However, his return may face opposition from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the anti-corruption watchdog, regarding his protective bail in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. The Supreme Court's decision to restore corruption cases against Nawaz Sharif adds significance to the search for guarantees. Shehbaz's visit to London coincides with the trip of Maryam Nawaz, PML-N vice president and daughter of Nawaz Sharif, where important discussions regarding his return are expected. Both brothers will have to address their respective cases, mainly related to the allotment of plots and the Ramzan Sugar Mills.

Maryam Nawaz recently downplayed her father's demand for strict accountability of former generals and judges, emphasizing that neither of them believes in seeking revenge.
