NASA Capsule Makes Historic Landing in Utah, Carrying Largest-Ever Asteroid Samples – Revealing Secrets of Our Solar System

NASA's Osiris-Rex probe successfully lands in Utah, USA, with the largest samples ever collected from an asteroid. This sample is expected to provide insights into the formation of the solar system and Earth's habitability. Further study to be conducted at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston. First results to be announced on October 11.

After a seven-year journey, a NASA capsule successfully landed in Utah, USA, carrying the largest samples of an asteroid ever collected. The Osiris-Rex probe's final descent through Earth's atmosphere was closely watched, but it managed to make a soft landing at a military test range. Launched in 2016, the probe landed on the asteroid Bennu in 2020, collecting approximately nine ounces of dust from its surface.

This sample is expected to provide valuable insights into the formation of the solar system and how Earth became habitable. Scientists believe that asteroids like Bennu, composed of the original materials of the solar system, can give us clues about the evolution of our solar system. The sample will be flown to NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston for further study, with the first results set to be announced on October 11.
