Kim Jong Un's Nuclear Push: Coercing US and Heightening Tensions
North Korean leader's nuclear push to coerce the US, has led tensions on the Korean Peninsula to escalate.
In the latest development, experts have revealed that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's nuclear push is primarily aimed at coercing the United States into accepting North Korea as a nuclear power.
By showcasing its nuclear capabilities, Kim hopes to negotiate economic and security concessions from a position of strength. This comes as the United States and South Korea brace themselves for a large-scale combined military exercise.
Taking advantage of the upcoming drills, Kim has ordered his military to refine its war plans and expand combat operations of frontline units. He has used these exercises as a pretext to intensify weapons demonstrations, including the testing-firings of over 100 missiles since the beginning of 2022. As a result, tensions on the Korean Peninsula have escalated significantly, reaching their highest point in years.
