Joe Biden's Europe Tour to Reaffirm International Support for Ukraine US President Joe Biden is set to embark on a three-nation tour to Europe this July in order to reinforce international coalition backing for Ukraine's counteroffensive against Russia. Biden's trip will start on July 9 and will include stops in Britain, Lithuania, and Finland.

On the agenda are the admissions of Sweden to NATO, the invitation of Ukraine to join the alliance, and talks with Nordic counterparts. Biden will also host Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson at the White House to discuss Stockholm's NATO ambitions and meet with Britain's Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in London. This momentous tour is a sign of the United States' strong support for Ukraine in its effort to join NATO and fend off Russia's invasion. Before heading off to Europe, Biden and Kristersson will discuss the terms of Sweden's membership bid, which Turkey and Hungary have previously blocked.

Earlier in the year, Finland became a full member of the bloc, after Turkey dropped its objections. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed his desire to be “invited” to join NATO at the summit in Vilnius, as the country intensifies its campaign against Russia. In addition, Biden will pay a visit to Windsor Castle to meet with King Charles III for the first time since his coronation. The two leaders are expected to further strengthen the close relationship between the US and UK. As Biden embarks on this tour, he aims to reaffirm US commitment to Ukraine's cause and strengthen ties with European allies. His visit will be a symbol of the US' solidarity with its allies and its firm stance against Russia's invasion.
