Imran Khan, Pakistan's imprisoned former prime minister, had a heartwarming reunion with his wife Bushra Bibi at the high-security Attock jail on Thursday. This marked the first time they had seen each other since his conviction and subsequent arrest in a corruption case.

Despite the difficult circumstances, Imran Khan remained in high spirits and expressed his determination to stay strong during his time behind bars. Lawyer Naeem Haider Panjutha provided details of their meeting in a video message, stating that the one-on-one meeting lasted for approximately half an hour.

Bushra Bibi, a spiritual healer known for her devotion to Sufism, expressed her relief over her husband's well-being but raised concerns about his conditions in Class C jail. This facility has been criticized for its harsh environment and is known to house convicted militants.

Although the legal team was not allowed to meet Imran Khan, the Islamabad High Court granted permission for Bushra Bibi to visit her husband. However, despite the positive outcome of their meeting, the legal team plans to address their concerns in the High Court. Imran Khan has instructed his lawyers to pursue his transfer from Attock jail to Adiala jail in Rawalpindi.

He has expressed his discomfort with the current conditions, describing a small, isolated cell without air conditioning that is infested with flies during the day and insects at night. His party has approached the High Court seeking his relocation. Imran Khan's arrest occurred shortly after an Islamabad trial court found him guilty of corrupt practices in the Toshakhana corruption case.

He was sentenced for unlawfully selling state gifts acquired by him and his family during his tenure as prime minister. This conviction also comes with a prohibition on participating in politics for five years, preventing him from contesting upcoming elections. However, Imran Khan maintains his innocence and denies any wrongdoing.
