Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng arrived in Pakistan on Sunday to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

As a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Mr. He will hold meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Arif Alvi during his three-day visit.

The visit reflects the deepening of bilateral ties between China and Pakistan and reaffirms support for each other's core interests. CPEC, a flagship project of China's Belt and Road Initiative, has brought $25.4 billion in Chinese investment to Pakistan, focusing on infrastructure, energy, and transport projects.

The initiative has sparked debate over mounting Chinese debt and security risks for Chinese citizens in Pakistan. However, both countries consider CPEC as a benchmark for their friendship and cooperation.
