In a recent development, the interim bail of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's wife Bushra Bibi has been extended in the Toshakhana case until September 12. Bushra Bibi appeared before Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra's court accompanied by her lawyers Salman Safdar, Intezar Panjotha, and Naeem Panjotha. During the court hearing, the investigation officer requested the judge to allow the arrest of Bushra Bibi, stating that her audio had already been sent for forensic analysis to the Federal Investigation Agency.

However, Bushra Bibi's lawyer, Salman Safdar, complained to the court that investigating officers had called his client and made her sit for hours, despite her previous denial of involvement with the audio in question. The judge questioned the investigating officer about the connection between the case and the alleged fake receipts, and also asked where the audio came from. He advised the officer to stick to the text of the FIR. The investigation officer requested more time to match Bushra Bibi's voice with the audio, and as a result, the court adjourned the hearing until September 12. The Toshakhana case involves accusations against Bushra Bibi of withholding various valuable items such as a locket, chain, earrings, rings, and a bracelet from the Toshakhana gifts.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) claims that these gifts were not submitted to the Toshakhana for valuation. The Toshakhana issue has become a significant point of controversy in Pakistan's political landscape, with Imran Khan himself facing disqualification from the Election Commission of Pakistan for false statements and incorrect declarations. In related news, Bushra Bibi has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court seeking a stay on her possible arrest. The petitioner highlights the alleged political victimization against her, her husband, and other family members by the federal and provincial governments, along with law enforcement agencies.

She argues that multiple false and frivolous FIRs have been lodged against her and her husband, and calls for the court to declare such acts illegal and prevent her arrest in undisclosed cases or inquiries. With these recent developments, the Toshakhana case continues to capture public attention, shedding light on allegations of corruption and political manipulation within Pakistan's leadership. The outcome of the case and Bushra Bibi's petition remain to be seen, as scrutiny and investigations into the Toshakhana gifts persist.
