British Foreign Secretary David Cameron has pledged continued military support for Ukraine during his surprise visit to Kyiv. Cameron, who is on his first trip abroad as foreign minister, emphasized the UK's commitment to providing moral, diplomatic, economic, and military support for as long as necessary. He dismissed Russia's belief that the West will eventually shift its attention away from Ukraine, stating that this is not the case.

Cameron's visit comes at a time when global attention is focused on the conflict between Israel and Hamas, and he was thanked by President Volodymyr Zelensky for visiting despite the world's divided attention. The two leaders discussed issues related to armaments, arms production, and maritime security, with a focus on strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities.

Concerns have been raised among Ukraine's allies about the lack of significant territorial gains in recent months, but reports indicate that Ukrainian forces may have made progress in the south of the country. Cameron also met with Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna to discuss Ukraine's aspirations to join NATO, with the UK affirming its support for Ukraine's accession. Additionally, Ukraine's air force reported downing 16 Russian attack drones and one cruise missile.
