Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has filed a petition in the Supreme Court for live streaming of proceedings on a case that seeks to revisit the controversial death sentence given to former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. A larger bench of the Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, is set to hear the reference on December 12.

The reference was filed in 2011 by the PPP government, seeking to reopen the case of Zulfikar Bhutto, who was hanged in 1979. Bhutto's grandson, Bilawal, argues that his grandfather was unjustly charged, convicted, and executed, and he wants the hearing to be transparent and accessible to the public through live streaming. Bilawal calls it a "miscarriage of justice" and hopes that the Supreme Court will expose all individuals involved in the crime.
