The Delhi Metro on Monday inaugurated the new segment of the Magenta line that will connect Noida to Gurgaon in lesser time as compared to current metro line. The travel time from Noida to Gurgaon will be cut by 30 mins. It takes almost one hour forty five minutes to reach Gurgaon from Noida. The new line was flagged off by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Union Housing Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

The total length of the second phase of this magenta line is of 24.82KM long from Kalkaji Mandir to Janakpuri( West Delhi). This corridor will connect Noida's Botanical garden Metro station to West Delhi's Janakpuri via Hauz Khas. This metro network adds on to the existing Delhi Metro Rail becoming the longest stretch.

This metro connectivity will allow people from Noida to avoid the congestion during peak hours at interchanging stations like Mandi House and Rajiv Chowk. They can now interchange at Hauz Khas Metro station to take the metro towards Huda City Centre, Gurgaon. Passenger services in the new metro stations have now been made easier by setting up vending machines for tokens and metro card recharge.

The Magenta line under the DMRC was inaugurated by Prime minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on 25th December to connect Noida with South Delhi. The first phase of the line stretched from Noida's Botanical Garden station to Kalkaji Metro station where people could change to purple line.
